Hunting Hollow- Windmill

The Windmill is located on the Hunting Hollow Road .75 miles from the Park entrance.  The windmill has been restored to service by the Springs Maintenance Committee with a grant from the Norcross  Wildlife Foundation.  The grant allowed the Spring Maintenance Committee to refurbish the windmill, add a new 3000 gallon Rubbermaid tank inside the old redwood tank and reestablish the plumbing between the windmill, tank and trough.  The windmill is located adjacent to a former hunting camp site and was used to provide water to cattle grazing in the Hollow.   This site will provide much needed water to backcountry travelers and wildlife during the hot Summer months after the Hollow Creek stops running.
