Spike Jones Spring |
The Spike Jones Spring is located near the intersection of the Spike Jones Trail and Steer Ridge road. It was re-discovered 1-99 by park volunteers while doing realignment of the Spike Jones Trail. Repeated visits to the site during the Summer and Fall, 1999, indicate substantial water flow out of the 10' pond but none flowing out of the Spring Box itself. On August 8, 2001 a group of Landmark Volunteers installed a new Spring Box, Trough and plumbing at this site. This will provide a much needed water source for wildlife and backcountry travelers. |
