Black Oak Spring

The Black Oak Spring is located on the NE slope of Blue Ridge along the Black Oak Springs Trail. This is one of the few developed springs in this area and has one of the highest year-around flowrates of any in Coe Park.  The site has been out of service for the last several years due to pig damage and lack of trail access.  A pilot trail has been recently completed with a signed spur leading to the spring site .4 miles down the trail in a deep ravine.  Water may only be available directly from the spring box.  A PEF has been submitted to authorize plumbing installation between the spring box and trough.

9-28-02 Update: The PEF has been approved and plumbing should be installed soon. This webpage will be updated when completed.

10-1-02 Update: The Black Oak spring is now fully operational.
