Feedback Letters

6-28-99 ---Bill, Just wanted to thank you for the EXCELLENT South Coe web site you maintain. Truly a wealth of information is collected and available on your site! I've done a lot of mountain biking in Coe, and some hiking as well, and I've found your maps, trail notes, and observations to be extremely useful and to the point. Thanks, Jeff M---

6--23-99---Hi, I hope that I am not replying too late for this offer.---I am interested in exploring the southern end of Coe park, but I am a little put off by its relative remoteness and lack of a good map. ---  I have been looking at your website and looking at your trail descriptions in order to get a better idea of what to expect. --- I am currently using the 1998 edition of the Henry Coe map from the headquarters, and it is ok except that it is lacking in the topographic area. It is hard to interpolate the elevations from the few given points. I use an Avocet altimeter which I find to be very useful and accurate, but topographic information would be great. Also, their map of the south side is pretty skimpy compared witht the detail that I would like. I also have the USGS maps but I don't like the fact that they are so outdated. --- Thanks for the great site, and for providing this service!  See you on the trail, Chris

6-8-99 --- I use Coe extensively as an training grounds for long (~10 hr) training runs and rides. ---, I usually use the USGS 7.5 quad's with some overlays from the current smaller maps on your site (and the "official" state park map).  Thanks for your efforts  Mark A. P---.

6-8-99---Hi, I recently bought a copy of TOPO! for the bay area.  I recently went on a backpacking trip on the south side of the park (with Irwin Koff) and hope to do two more this summer.  I'd like to get a copy of the topo! data files that would allow me to print out the park's trails if you wouldn't mind sending them. Rich V-- G---.

6-6-99 Another Coe epic ride yesteday, thanks in no small measure to your mapping efforts. I rode --- up the Pacheco Ridge Trail (Road?) and down Heritage ---Mark R---.

6-5-99 --your maps are excellent, we just discovered them this mornign on the web, and these maps are most helpful, they show soo much more details than the regular park maps you can get in print. What a great job!  H--- & R--- S---.

6-3-99  A while back Ruby sent me a "hi resolution" map from the SW side of Coe. I was impressed with the quality of the printing. Geoff F---.

6-3-99  I ride long, solo routes (I usually ride solo - enables better wildlife viewing) - just finished a 26 miler last week (Hot Springs entrance-Grapevine- Kelly L.- DF&G Pond- Turkey Pond- Pacheco Falls- back via Wagon Road and Lyman-Willson Road into Hunting Hollow)…I note my routes/mileages on the existing Park Map and Topos I've obtained from USGS.   None are as detailed as Bill's, however.   Andy L---.

6-3-99  I've led group rides through the Canada la Dormida, Mississipi Lake, Mustang Peak/Long Ridge, Bear Mountain, and most recently Rat Springs. I currently use all of the maps that are available: the non-topographic map you can buy from the park, USGS 7.5 topos, and Bill Levey's TOPO! maps. Bill's are by far the most helpful as the USGS maps are hopelessly out of date and the park map is missing the topographic information that is key.---I'm currently planning to do some rides out to Mississippi Lake and explore the various ways to get back to Pacheco Camp. Mark R---.

6-2-99  Matt and I have visited your site. Everyone here in the office has seen your amazing .tpo file. If you ever need anything else never hesitate to call. Matt is the VP of the company and one of our founders, I'm the retail support coordinator. Once again, awesome Job! Mike D---. (TOPO! Developers)

6-2-99  --- many thanks for the maps.  They arrived just in time for this past weekend's backpack trip.  I took the one for the area we were in.  It was a fantastic aid to myself and the many other park visitors I showed it to who asked me route questions. Dave R.

6-1-99  I am totally "blown away" by what you have done at the Coe web site! Don W---.

6-1-99  With the sign posts going in, it is getting a little easier to have a good time without getting hopelessly lost, but your maps are a godsend anyway. Had a great Memorial Day ride and rode Rat Springs down to Pacheco Creek for the first time. What a beautiful trail! Mark R---

5-27-99  Thanks for the excellent printouts of Bill Levey's excellent maps. The park map is very sketchy around Coit Spring, Cattle Duster, and Domino Pond Trails, and I had never taken that route to Kelly Lake before. Bill's map was essential to the success of our Tuesday hike with Jean Rusmore and Betsy Crowder.   Don S---.

4-24-99 Hi Bill,  My name is Kevin M---. I met you the weekend of the 4-17 at Pacheco Camp just before you were taking off with the work crew to do spring maintenance. My friend and I had just hiked in to camp from Mississippi Lake after a few days of fishing.--- I'll be moving to Seattle by late June so --- I'd like to do something similar with a few of the major parks up there as you have with Henry Coe St Pk (if someone hasn't already done it). I'd appreciate any tips you have, if any, and perhaps we'll meet again.  Regards, Kevin M---.

4-22-99  Thank you for creating the line map of south Henry Coe. I printed it on an HP 1120C printer using 11x17 paper and it came out great!  I've enjoyed Henry Coe park since my Boy Scout days in the early 1980's. Can't wait to visit the new southern areas.--Dudley M---.

4-21-99 Dear Ruby,  I know I am late in asking but if you have any of those 8x10 maps left I would love one.   I just visited Henry Coe for the first time this last sat-mon and totally loved the place. The lack of topo maps was a noticible thing to me.  Thanks, Brian V---.

4-21-99  Last week I purchased TOPO!GPS and would like to have your .tpo and .tpg files which correspond to the image files on your (most excellent !) web site. Thanks, Bob B

4-5-99 I did Henry Coe this weekend. The whole time we wished we had a good map of the Coyote Creek entrance and south ena of the park. If you have any left, I would appreciate it. Michael J---.

3-29-99 Dear Ruby, Today I received an email from Bill Levey about his excellent collection of maps of Henry Coe--- I do hike and bike freqently in the area of interest and was intrigued by the suggestion in his recent message that by writing to you I could get a complimentary hi-res copy of one of his topo maps of the area around the southern entrances. If this is indeed the case, please send one of those maps to: Geoff ---.

This is a great website and I appreciate all the work you have put into it.  We are planning a 5 day trip in the next couple of weeks. Mike G---.

3-22-99 Bill, I got your maps in the mail on Friday - they are fantastic!  It looks like you found a "new" pond (Gibson Pond) on your "Bill's Trail loop";   I'm looking forward to fishing it.  Do you happen to remember if the pond looked "fishy" (It has a lot of tules or other aquatic plants)? hanks again and please stay in touch!Robert C---.

3-19-99   Yes, D--- and myself have seen our photos at Coit Spring. Good job on your part getting these and all our team photos on the WEB!---Thanks for putting me on your mailing list for updates! (I didn't know you had a mailing list or I would have asked a long time ago to be included.) My favorite times in the park are with the Springs Committee in the warmest months like May and June. ---At your WEB site you describe where Mistletoe Spring is but I couldn't seem to find it on your spring location maps. Did I overlook it on your maps or haven't you put it on these maps yet? Regards, Phil N---.

3-16-99  Bill, Thanks so much for the maps!  they are much appreciated.  I will follow your instructions regarding the image editor and will I experiment with the printer settings and let you know what works for me.  I will also take your advice and check out all of the trails when it is cool;  I am like you in that I also carry extra stuff (water, snacks, first aid kit) even on the short day or 1/2 day trips - better safe than sorry. Thanks again!!!  Robert C---.
